Bidayat

Bidayat

Bidayat, also Bideyat, is a dialect of the Zaghawa language found in Chad and western Sudan. It is also known as Tuba. [http://www.ethnologue.com/show_language.asp?code=zag Ethnologue report: Zaghawa] , Ethnologue] In contrast to their Zaghawa kin, Bidayat speakers are more nomadic. This difference led early ethnographers to refer to them as different groups until linguistic similarities proved their close relationship. [Issam Abdalla Ali, [http://www.sudanvisiondaily.com/modules.php?name=News&file=print&sid=3282 Zaghawa Language and History] , Sudan Vision, 20 September YEAR UNKNOWN]

As of 2008, current President of Chad, Idriss Déby Itno belongs to this group.
