Scawby Mill was opened about 1829 but the present tower was built as part of a house after the original tower collapsed during renovation work in 1994 [Scunthorpe Evening Telegraph 25 May 1994. [http://www.lincolnshire.gov.uk/section.asp?catId=3397] ] .
