Pobalscoil Neasain

Pobalscoil Neasáin, or "PSN" as it is referred to by its students and alumni, is a community school situated between Baldoyle and Bayside, north east of the Dublin city centre, in Ireland.

Sports

The Under-18 Soccer Team has achieved notable success on numerous occasions, most recently winning the Dublin Metropolitan Cup. The Under-16 team has also fared well in its division of the Metropolitan Cup.

The Under-19 Girls Basketball team has won the Dublin Divisional Girls Basketball Final.

The Under-14 Boys Rugby Team won the Rugby final in 2007, their first championship after having formed only the previous year.

Music

"PSN Unplugged" runs an annual two-night concert. Notable guests at past concerts included Leanne Harte and Philomena Lynott in 2006. Memorable appearances have also been made by the Y.M.C.A and Freddie Mercury, among other groups.Fact|date=July 2008

Other achievements

Debating

The school excelled in debating in 2008, winning the All Ireland Secondary Schools Debating competition, the Aoife Begley Memorial Secondary Schools Debating Competition, the Cork Mace and the Wesley Mace.

Esat BT Young Scientist

The girls received a green ribbon for their project on the effects of the compulsory PE time period on the average student.

International links

Pobalscoil Neasáin is linked to many schools in Europe, including schools in Germany, France, Spain, Denmark, Italy and Latvia. Students have participated in the TeenNet Project, travelling to Spain, Latvia and France. More recently, the school has taken part in an international forum in Europe, with students travelling to Stalkerbach, Germany to take part in international conferences. Combining this with the participation of students in the Model European Parliament at St. Andrew's College, Booterstown, an event which has only recently become an annual occurrence.

Notable alumni of the school include Cecelia Ahern (author of P.S, I Love You, producer and co-creator of ABC comedy Samantha Who?), Georgina Ahern (daughter of former Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern) and Nicky Byrne (Westlife)Fact|date=July 2008
