Passin' Thru is the fourth studio album by James Gang, released in 1972.

This was the first album after guitarist and vocalist Joe Walsh left and was replaced by the singer Roy Kenner and guitarist Domenic Troiano, who left the band after Straight Shooter and was replaced with ex-Zephyr guitarist Tommy Bolin, who helped revitalize the band.

James Gang's original members Dale Peters, who did bass and background vocals, and Jim Fox, who played drums and organ, are on "Passin' Thru."

The scene shown on the album's cover is of East Main Street in Bismarck, North Dakota in the 1880's. The large building in the background still stands.

Writing for Allmusic, critic Stephen Thomas Erlewine wrote the album "Passin' Thru didn't hit as hard as its predecessor, but it did provide an effective showcase for Troiano's talents."[1]
