Shane Dye

Shane Dye

Raymond Shane Dye (born 26 September 1966) was a champion apprentice jockey in New Zealand, and, moving to Australia in the late-1980s, he quickly established himself as one of the country's best riders. He gained national prominence with his win on Tawrrific in the 1989 Melbourne Cup, and won the Golden Slipper four years in a row from 1989 to 1992 on Courtza, Canny Lad, Tierce, and Burst.

Adept on both frontrunners and strong finshers, Dye was a prolific winner on Australian racetracks who now rides in Hong Kong.
