KTEL-LP is a Spanish-language low-power television station in Albuquerque, New Mexico, broadcasting locally in analog on UHF channel 47 as an affiliate of Telemundo. Founded November 28,1994, the station is owned by Ramar Communications. The station formerly transmitted on UHF channel 53, but has now changed frequencies and broadcasts on channel 47. Transmission on channel 53 ceased in early December 2007. The station call letters have not changed.

Ramar also owns KFAC-LP channel 56 a low-powered station which broadcasts home shopping programming from Jewelry Television. Jewelry TV is also shown on KTEL in overnight hours from 1AM-6AM.

Digital television

Because they were granted original construction permits after the FCC finalized the DTV allotment plan on April 21, 1997 [http://www.transmitter.com/FCC97115/chanplan.html] , KTEL-TV and KTLL-TV did not receive companion channels for digital television stations. Instead, on or before February 17, 2009, which is the end of the digital TV conversion period for full-service stations, KTEL-TV and KTLL-TV will be required to turn off their analog signals and turn on their digital signals (called a "flash-cut").
