Kōichi Ishii

Kōichi Ishii

(born July 9, 1964) is a video game developer who worked since 1987 for Square Enix (formerly Square). He was the creator of the "Mana" series (known as "Seiken Densetsu" in Japan), of which he has directed or produced every game released (as of 2008); he has also contributed to several games in Square Enix's "SaGa" and "Final Fantasy" series, and created the well-known Chocobo and Moogle characters. Recently, he worked on "Final Fantasy XI" as director. Ishii was the head of Square Enix's Production Team 8 but has since left Square-Enix after the World of Mana fiasco, se formed a new developer Grezzo Games, inc in April 2007, who is doing Line Attack Heroes a Katamary Damacy kind of title for Nintendo, it is unknown but speculated wether this company is wholy owned by Nintendo hence first party, second party, or just a subcontracted third party.
