Heritage High School is a high-tech high school in Brentwood, California that opened in August 1, 2005, with only a freshman class and a sophomore class. Its school colors are gold, columbia blue, and white and its athletic teams are called the Patriots. The school is separated into 4 Small Learning Communities (SLCs), SLC-A, SLC-B, SLC-C, and SLC-D. SLC-A and SLC-D were the only SLCs open the first year of school, but the second school year saw the beginning of SLC-B, with SLC-C being partially used for PE teachers, and as of 2007 is now being used completely. The Class of 2008 will be the first class to graduate Heritage High School, and Class of 2009 will be the first to have attended Heritage for all 4 years. As mentioned above, Heritage is an extremely high-tech school, featuring a state-of-the-art theatre, recording studio, broadcast studio (with green screen), and large plasma screen TV's in every classroom.

As of 2008, all four SLC's are being used and have been staffed with assistant principles. The staffing is as follows:

In addition to the Heritage's Small learning Communities, the school also features 4 academies, which students can join to pursue an interest in a particular field of study. The 4 academies are:

Law, Government, and Public ServiceHealth and RecreationEnvironmental ScienceEngineering Technologies

The school is also home to numerous sports team, and has won a varsity championship in softball. Extra-curricular activities at Heritage include drama/theatre, band, mock trials, speech/debate, outdoor club, Black Student Union, Interact Club, S Club, and Leadership/Student Council.
