Jeff Hordley

Jeff Hordley

Jeff Hordley (born Jeffrey Percy in Oldham, Lancashire) is an English actor, perhaps best known for his part in ITV's "Emmerdale" as Cain Dingle. He is married to his college sweetheart Zoe Henry, who he proposed to after she won a Best Actress award for her work in the play Pygmalion - but not for that reason alone. They have a daughter together.

He attended North Chadderton School for his secondary school education - also the breeding ground for one-time England captain David Platt, character actor Will I Am Ash, supermodel Karen Elson, and little known Oasis bass player Scott Mcleod (see Wonderwall Video). He gained a BA (Hons) Theatre Arts (Acting) degree in 1997 from Manchester Metropolitan University School of Television & Theatre.

He is best known for his bad-boy character Cain Dingle, whom he played in the British soap opera "Emmerdale" for 6 years.

In March 2007 it was revealed by the media that he had joined Coronation Street although it was confirmed he would not be appearing in the show any time in the near future. In fact it is his wife that appeared in the soap first, as friend of Claire Peacock, Casey. Jeff did however have a small role in Coronation Street playing a night club owner giving Mike Baldwin some much over-due 'grief' many years before his role in "Emmerdale".

Jeff is currently a DJ for 96.2 The Revolution - a local radio station based in Oldham. He presents his show 'Songs Of Praise' every Sunday 2-4pm. He also DJ's in a live capacity as part of the Rock And Roll Bar Collective, soon to be appearing at The Roadhouse, Newton St, Manchester.

Jeff also took part in a pantomime production of 'Mother Goose' at the Churchill Theatre in Bromley, London.
