Bridgewater, Tasmania, is one greater Hobart's northern-most suburbs, located 19km from the city. It is situated on the eastern shore of the Derwent River. It is a suburb of the local government area of the Municipality of Brighton.

Bridgewater is one of the first suburbs of Hobart visitors from the north of the state pass through when travelling to Hobart via the Midland Highway. The suburb connects to the western shore via the Bridgewater Bridge and Causeway.

Bridgewater is one of the lowest socio-economic areas of Hobart, with a low average household age and above average unemployment and crime Fact|date=June 2007, though Bridgewaters' locality boundaries include farms, private homes areas and industrial zones.

The main commercial area of Bridgewater is the Cove Hill Shopping Centre, which includes a supermarket and several specialty stores. In November 2007 the Greenpoint Plaza was opened on Green Point Road, it includes another supermarket and four specialty stores.

Bridgewater has four primary schools: Northern Suburbs Christian School (private), St. Paul's Primary School (Catholic), Greenpoint Primary School and Bridgewater Primary School (both public). It also has a public high school, Bridgewater High School, which includes a school farm.
