László Kiss (footballer)

László Kiss (born 12 March 1956) is an Hungarian football coach and former forward. He played for the Hungary national team in the 1982 World Cup, where he gained notability after becoming the first substitute player to score three goals in a World Cup match.

Kiss played professionally for Hungarian clubs Pécsi MFC, Kaposvári Rákóczi FC and Vasas SC, and for French club Montpellier HSC.cite web | author=Uefa.com, UEFA | title="Budapest prove Hungary's best" | url=http://www.uefa.com/competitions/WomenCup/news/Kind=1/newsId=444994.html | accessdate=2006-11-15 ]

Kiss won international recognition and his name entered the record books during the 1982 FIFA World Cup, when he scored the fastest hat-trick in World Cup history – also the only hat-trick by a substitute – [ [http://fifaworldcup.yahoo.com/06/en/060328/1/6e53.html FIFA article: "How to shoot your way into history"] retrieved Aug. 17, 2006.] against El Salvador in a first round match that Hungary won 10-1. He was a starter in the subsequent first round matches against Argentina and Belgium, being substituted in the second half of both games, and without scoring again.

He has been the coach of the women's football club 1. FC Femina Budapest since 2000, and has led the team to four domestic titles.
