Operation Quicksilver (1990s)

Operation Quicksilver (United States, 1990s) was a plan to reduce the size of the United States Army in the early 1990s as a result of the end of the Cold War. A number of incentives such as early retirement were used to reduce the number of soldiers on active duty by a third.
