Robert S. Wistrich

‎Robert Solomon Wistrich (born 1945) is the Neuburger Professor of European and Jewish history at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and the head of the University's Vidal Sassoon International Center for the Study of Anti-Semitism.

Early life

Wistrich was born in Lenger, Kazakhstan in 1945. In 1942 they moved to Kazakhstan, where Wistrich's father was imprisoned twice by the NKVD. Professional career

Wistrich received his Ph.D. from the University of London, and is the author and editor of 23 books, including "Socialism and the Jews" (1982); "The Jews of Vienna in the Age of Franz Joseph" (1989), which won the Austrian State Prize for Danubian History; and "Antisemitism, the Longest Hatred" (1992), which was awarded the H. H. Wingate Prize for non-fiction in the UK.
