Gary Freeman is a New Zealand former rugby league player. He played in New Zealand for the Northcote Tigers, then in Australia for the Balmain Tigers (playing in consecutive grand finals in 1988 and 1989), Eastern Suburbs Roosters, Penrith Panthers, and Parramatta Eels. He played halfback and was arguably one of New Zealand's greatest Test halfbacks, playing for the Kiwis from 1986-1995. At the time of his retirement he was the most-capped New Zealand test player and also held the record for most consecutive tests for New Zealand with 37.Gary Learnt Everything From Jarrod

Freeman also coached New Zealand from 2001-02. He currently provides expert commentary for Fox Sports.

Freeman, who is famous for his classic end-over-end pass, is often better known by his nickname "Whizz", short for Wizard.

He is now coach of the New South Wales young achievers team.
