St. Malo, Manitoba

St. Malo is a community approximately 60 kilometres south of Winnipeg, Manitoba.

A community of over 1,000 predominantly bilingual speaking residents, with resources in agricultural land, which in turn support numerous enterprises. St. Malo is recognized for its tourist attractions and farming. Agriculture and SME (Small and Medium Enterprises) play an important role in this community's economy.

Saint-Malo is also home to the always expanding St.Malo Provincial Park, which boasts two beaches, challenging hiking and bicycling trails, basic to fully-serviced campsites in more than 11 bays, and many other tourist attractions. Also available to tourists is the privately-owned Debonair Campground, which offers its own sandy beach, a hot tub, seasonal and overnight campsites and much more.

Amongst many others, popular activities in Saint-Malo during the winter months are snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, hockey, and ice-fishing on the lake. In February 2008, the Friends of the Park (Les amis du parc) organized its first annual Festival of Friends.

Ecole Saint-Malo School is the community's elementary and middle school and is part of the Red River Valley School Division. The school offers both a French Immersion and English programs.
