Savogna d'Isonzo (Slovenian: "Sovodnje ob Soči") is a "comune" (municipality) in the Province of Gorizia in the Italian region Friuli-Venezia Giulia, located about 35 km northwest of Trieste and about 3 km southwest of Gorizia, on the border with Slovenia. It is located at the conjunctions Kras Plateau and the Vipava Valley. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 1,750 and an area of 16.4 km².All demographics and other statistics: Italian statistical institute Istat.] The vast majority of the population are of Slovenian ethnicity.
