Diplomatic missions of East Timor

Diplomatic missions of East Timor

As the poorest country in Asia with a limited number of trained personnel, East Timor is only slowly beginning to develop its network of embassies abroad. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation is planning to open posts in Bangkok and Brasilia. The East Timor government established a mission in Maputo attributable to Fretilin's historic ties with the Mozambique government. The only other country ever to open its first African embassy in Maputo was Iceland.
