"Still Life with Crows" (ISBN 0-446-53142-1) is a 2003 thriller novel by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child. It focuses on their character of FBI Special Agent Aloysius X.L. Pendergast.

Plot

Agent Pendergast visits Medicine Creek, Kansas after a gruesome murder occurs. While Pendergast researches the murder with the help of Corrie Swanson (a resident of Medicine Creek), more citizens are killed. Pendergast is soon led to believe that the murderer must be a member of the community. He soon discovers that the murders are connected to an old curse.

This novel serves as the introduction of Corrie Swanson, a troubled local goth girl, who aids Pendergast in solving the case. Pendergast takes Corrie under his wing in this novel and gives her the monetary assistance necessary to escape Medicine Creek and attend Phillips Exeter Academy in New Hampshire.

This novel makes reference to a fictional Preston/Child book called "Beyond the Ice Limit", apparently a sequel to their real novel, "The Ice Limit".
