Fact|date=July 2008 Together with Nas, he made his first appearance on the "Live at the BBQ " track of theMain Source album "Breaking Atoms " in 1991.Akinyele patented a guttural rapping style, one that allowed him to accent words by quickly dropping into a lower octave. That signature became more pronounced as Akinyele evolved his style, particularly after "Live at the BBQ," and no other rapper has quite the same lyrical approach.
