Tzivos Hashem

Tzivos Hashem

worldwide organization serving the physical and spiritual needs of Jewish children.

Participants

Participants in Tzivos Hashem programs are under the age of "Bar/Bat Mitzvah" from backgrounds spanning the spectrum of levels of Jewish education and commitment to Jewish affiliation, without regard to social and economic status.

Goals

From its headquarters in Brooklyn, "Tzivos Hashem" aims to spearhead the trend to revive Jewish identity in children and provide them with a Jewish education through informal and entertaining programs, modern teaching methods, publications and personal encounters. It is their belief that enrolling in "Tzivos Hashem" and following its program of Torah study and performance of "Mitzvos", prepares today’s children for a seamless transition into Jewish adulthood, ensuring continuity of Jewish values and traditions.

History

Tzivos Hashem began registering children from around the world in it's programs in the autumn of 1980. Over their first ten years programs were expanded to include a magazine, comic books, a radio show, and the Shomer Shabbat Liitle League baseball teams, in addition to their other educational programs. Since then the organization has expanded even further to include video productions, a website, international contests, and involvement in the construction and funding of orphanages in the Ukraine [ [http://www.highbeam.com/doc/1P1-3984299.html] AROUND THE JEWISH WORLD: Ukraine orphanages offer refuge for Jewish From: Jewish Telegraphic Agency Date: June 10, 1997 ] , food pantries, and even a museum for Jewish children. In 2005, children from the organization's summer camps took part in a rally in New York City protesting Israel's withdraw from Gaza.
