William Henry Harrison High School (HHS) is a four-year public high school in Tippecanoe County, Indiana near West Lafayette. It has a student enrollment of about 1693 for the 2007-2008 school year, with 100 certified staff members. HHS also had a graduation rate of 80.8% for the 2007 school year. It was first established in 1967.

The school is named for William Henry Harrison, 9th president of the United States. He was instrumental in overseeing numerous treaties, purchasing much of present-day Indiana from Native American leaders.

HHS is accredited by the North Central Association of Secondary Schools and holds a Special First Class Commission from the Indiana Department of Education. It is also a member of the Indiana Association of College Admissions Counselors.

The school is part of the Tippecanoe School Corporation.

Athletics and programs

Harrison High School is a member of the Hoosier Crossroads Conference and offers students 21 varsity sports, including 10 for boys and 11 for girls. Harrison teams have won conference championships and have competed for state titles. The Harrison girls track team (’74), football team, ('92), and baseball ('95) have won state championship titles.

Harrison has over 450 students enrolled in eight bands (3 concert, 3 jazz, pep, and militia) and six choirs. These bands routinely engage in various music festivals, domestic travel, and international student exchanges.

Harrison also has a theater program. Its students perform both a musical in the spring and a play in the fall. Recent productions include Thoroughly Modern Millie (Spring 2007), Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (Fall 2007), and The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe (Fall 2006).

Harrison academic teams include Academic Super Bowl, Spell Bowl, Math Club, Science Bowl, and Quiz Bowl. The Harrison Math Club won the 2006 and 2007 AMC 12 state and region 4 (IN, MI, OH) titles. In its first year of competition, the Harrison Science Bowl team won the 2007 state title and qualified for the national competition. The Harrison Quiz Bowl team has gone to the national competitions for the past five years, and won the National Academic Championship in spring of 2007. Having won the DC Phase of the tournament, they traveled to Florida and there, led by captain Ariel Schneider and coach Lyn Schneider, won Harrison its first National title. One of the many school activities that Harrison provides for its students is FIRST Robotics, a worldwide competition in which robots compete to accomplish a task. Harrison has done well in the past at regional competitions.

Harrison maintains a highly active drug testing program for any extracurricular activities. It was one of the first high schools to reinstate drug testing among its students after a brief Indiana Supreme Court moratorium. Conservative, the high school was briefly mentioned in "Jesus Land" by Julia Scheeres.
