CBC Sports

CBC Sports is the division of the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation responsible for sports broadcasting. The highest rated televised segment on the CBC Television network comes from the CBC Sports presentation of "Hockey Night in Canada". CBC Sports also holds the rights to Toronto Blue Jays baseball Games, the 2008 Olympics, Toronto Raptors basketball games and "Major League Soccer on CBC" (specifically Toronto FC and the playoffs).

On August 1, 2007, CBC Sports officially announced that it will broadcast 10 Toronto Raptors games for the 2007/2008 and 20 games for the 2008/2009 and 2009/2010 seasons.cite web | url=http://www.cbc.ca/sports/basketball/story/2007/08/01/raptors-cbc-deal.html?ref=rss | accessdate=2007-10-03 | date=1 August 2007 | title=CBC Sports signs broadcast deal with Raptors]

The current director of CBC Sports is Scott Moore, who was appointed on March 5, 2007. He succeeded Nancy Lee who resigned in October 2006 to organize the broadcast of the 2010 Winter Olympics. David Masse was interim director before Moore.

On August 20, 2008, the CBC received approval from the CRTC to create an all-sports digital tv channel, tentatively known as CBC SportsPlus. Launch date is unknown.
