The Shule County (Chinese: 疏勒县;
Pinyin : Shūlè xiàn; _ug. قەشقەر يېڭىشەھەر ناھىيىسى|Qeshqer Yéngisheher Nahiyisi|K̡əxk̡ər Yengixəh̡ər Nah̡iyisi) is a county situated in theXinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region and is under the administrative jurisdiction of theKashgar Prefecture . It is located to the South ofKashgar City . In Ancient times, the Shule area was once the home to a Western Region oasis civilisation, theShule Kingdom .The residents during ancient times belonged to the Indo-European groupand they spoke a

During the
Western Han Dynasty period, the Kingdom of Shule's strength was regarded as not strong. In the Second Century AD, theKushan KingKaniska vigorously disseminated teachings ofBuddhism into the Shule area.By the middle of the 6th century AD, the area fell under the control of the
Göktürks and from then on, tribute had to be presented to them each year.In
658 AD, the army of theTang Dynasty pacified KingAshina Tuwu of theWestern Qaghans and the city of Shule was incorporated among the four Administrative-level Towns ofAnxi ; hence the city was then under the Anxi government's protection.External links
