Hotan Prefecture

The Hotan Prefecture (Chinese: “和田”, Pinyin: Hétián Dìqū; Uyghur: خوتەن ۋىلايىتى, Xoten Wilayiti, unicode|Hotən Vilayiti) [The official spelling is "Hotan" according to "Zhōngguó dìmínglù" 中国地名录 (Beijing, "Zhōngguó dìtú chūbǎnshè" 中国地图出版社 1997); ISBN 7-5031-1718-4; p. 304.] is located in the south-western part of the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, China. It is sometimes (unofficially) spelled as Khotan.

Administrative divisions

The Hotan Prefecture is divided into one county-level city: Hotan City, and seven counties: Hotan County, Karakash County, Pishan County, Lop County, Chira County, Keriye County and Minfeng County.
