Walter D. Wetherell

Walter D. Wetherell is an American writer who has published more than a dozen books of fiction and nonfiction under the name W. D. Wetherell. He has also written essays and travel pieces for The New York Times, the Boston Review, and other periodicals. Several of his nonfiction books are about rivers and fly-fishing.

Wetherell has received two fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts, two O. Henry Awards, the Drue Heinz Literature Prize, and, most recently, the American Academy of Arts and Letters’ Strauss Living Award.
