Velke Kostolany transmitter

Velke Kostolany transmitter is the main transmission facility of Slovakian broadcasting company, situated north of Velke Kostolany near Nitra and also known as Nitra transmitter. It was inaugurated in 1949 and is used for mediumwave and shortwave broadcasting. Until 2003 it transmitted in the mediumwave band on 1098 kHz with omnidirectional radiation, today the radiated power may be only 50 kilowatts.
