From 1963 to 1974, he attended the 22nd secondary school of Vilnius; from 1974 to 1979, he studied in the Physics Faculty of the Vilnius National University and from 1981 to 1984 in the aspiranture of Vilnius National University.
In 1988, he became the member of "
Sąjūdis Movement " and was the Executive Secretary of the Sąjūdis Council. A. Kubilius has been the member of the political party "Homeland Union " since its establishment in 1993.Kubilius is able to speak in Lithuanian, Russian and English languages.
