The Syracuse Chiefs are a minor league baseball team based in Syracuse, New York, and are the new Triple-A affiliate of the Washington Nationals. The team was named the SkyChiefs from 1997-2006, but the nickname was changed back to the Chiefs in December 2006. [http://www.minorleaguebaseball.com/app/news/article.jsp?ymd=20061211&content_id=148192&vkey=pr_t552&fext=.jsp&sid=t552] The team, which plays in the International League, was the Triple-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays, ending their 31 season relationship after the 2008 season. On September 20, 2008, it was announced that the Chiefs have signed a two-year affiliation agreement with the Washington Nationals.

The Chiefs have played at Alliance Bank Stadium (formerly P&C Stadium), since 1997. Previously, the team played at MacArthur Stadium.
