Madison La Follette High School is a public school located in Madison, Wisconsin, teaching students grades 9-12. It is a part of the Madison Metropolitan School District. One of five Madison public high schools, (Madison West High School, Madison East High School, Malcom Shabazz City High School, James Madison Memorial High School) it is commonly known as just "La Follette". The school is named after former congressman, senator, governor, and 1924 presidential candidate Robert M. La Follette, Sr..

La Follette is one a small number of schools in the state that uses the Block System. Each class period is an hour and thirty minutes, and has ten minute passing periods. There are four classes a day, Monday through Friday, and most classes are completed by the end of one semester. A new set of four classes begins in the spring semester making for a total of eight classes per year, per student. New principal Joe Gothard's emphasis is on creating a community feel throughout the school.

Science At La Follette

The Science Olympiad Team at La Follette High School has consistently scored well in the state meet with three second place finishes, a sixth place, and a twelfth place in the last five years.

La Follette High School is also home to one of the few on-grounds arboretums in the state. While it is a relatively small arboretum, it provides enough space for three ecosystems including a prairie, woodland, and pond. Student management of the arboretum helps to maintain its multiple uses for the science department.
