"Pawan Hans" Helicopters Limited (Hindi for "wind swan") is a helicopter service company based in India.

Incorporation

"Pawan Hans" was incorporated on October 15, 1985 as the Helicopter Corporation of India (HCL), the country's national helicopter company with the objective of providing helicopter support services to the oil sector for its off-shore exploration operations, services in remote areas and charter services for promotion of tourism.

Ownership

It is a Government owned enterprise with 78.5% in Government hands & 21.5% with ONGC.

The Fleet

Today with a fleet of 36 helicopters and 767 highly trained and experienced pilots, "Pawan Hans" is India's largest helicopter operator.

The fleet includes 17 Dauphin SA365N, 6 Dauphin As 365N3, 4 Bell 407, 3 Bell 206L4, 2 Mi-172 and 1 Robinson R-44.

Operations

The Corporate Office is located at Delhi with Regional Offices at Delhi and Mumbai. The company has a net worth of Rs 37,015 million and equity capital is Rs 1,137 million. The company's focus is on growth, increased profits, customer satisfaction, human resources and safety.Pavan Hans is "Approved Maintenance Centre of Eurocopter" and also the first ISO 9001 : 2000 certified aviation company in India.

Its range of customers includes the Government of India (Ministry of Home Affairs), Oil and Natural Gas Corporation, Government of Punjab, Government of Arunachal Pradesh, Government of Jharkhand, Government of Meghalaya, Andaman and Nicobar Administration for inter Island helicopter Service, Border Security Force, Indian Customs, National Hydroelectric Power Corporation Ltd, Oil India Ltd, Indian Oil Corporation Ltd, Gas Authority of India Ltd, Hardy Exploration in Chennai, Lakshadweep Administration, and pilgrims visiting to the Vaishno Devi Shrine, etc.

Location

Pawan Hans is located at Vile Parle (West).It is just a few minutes of walk from the Vile Parle station.
