Alphabet pasta, also referred to as Alfabeto or Alphabeti Spaghetti, is pasta that has been mechanically cut or pressed into the letters of the Latin alphabet, although other alphabets are usedFact|date=September 2008 in regional variants. It is often served in a soup, sold in a canned, condensed broth. Another variation, Alphaghetti, consists of letter-shaped pasta in a marinara or spaghetti sauce. One popularFact|date=September 2008 brand of condensed-style alphabet soup is Campbell's. Popular with American children, it is served by parents or schools to encourage young children to learn to read. Accordingly, the marketing of the product is geared toward young children.
