Generation 9/11

Generation 9/11

The term Generation 9/11 is a commonly Fact|date=January 2008 used term in the United States to refer to young adults who were between the ages of 10 and 20 on September 11, 2001. This group could be said to have previously had no defining event in their lives. Many social researchers believe that the terrorist attacks that occurred on that date caused significant shifts in the attitudes of this group; changes which will one day have dramatic effects on politics, economics and social policy.

The first reference to "Generation 9/11" was made in the cover story on the November 12, 2001 issue of Newsweek Magazine.

The reference is also used for the title of a chapter in the 2006 book Applebee's America [http://www.applebeesamerica.com/] .
