St. Luke's School is a small independent, Episcopal Junior Kindergarten to 8th Grade school in Greenwich Village, at 487 Hudson Street. Total enrollment is about 200, with about 20 kids per grade. It is located on the beautiful convert|1|acre|m2|sing=on block of The Church of St. Luke in the Fields. Head of school is Ann Mellow announced in March 2006 that she would be leaving the school after the 2006-2007 school year. She will have been the head for 12 years. A search committee of members of the School Board was formed to begin searching for a new head of school; at the end of 2006 it was announced that Bart Baldwin would be the new head. The current Upper School (grades 5-8) head is Lyn Spyropoulos, and the current Lower School (grades JK-4) head is Jackie Stevenson (She too is leaving this year, and a new lower school head has not yet been announced).
