Royal Life Saving Society of Canada

The Royal Life Saving Society Canada, operates throughout Canada as the Lifesaving Society. It is the governing body for lifesaving and lifeguarding in Canada. As a non-profit organization dedicated to reducing drownings, the LSS is a national leader in first aid and CPR training, and an international leader in lifeguarding and lifesaving training.

The Lifesaving Society is incorporated in Ontario under the name "The Royal Life Saving Society Canada/La Société Royale de Sauvetage Canada" but has branches for every province and territory.

The LSS represents Canada on the board of the International Life Saving Federation and is part of the Royal Life Saving Society Commonwealth.

Ceritification offered under the LSS varies by branch, but includes:

* Bronze Star, Bronze Medallion and Bronze Cross
* Distinction and Diploma
* National Lifeguard Service in four options: Pool, Waterpark, Waterfront and Surf
* First Aid and CPR training
* AED, Airway Management and CPR-Heath Care Provider (HCP)
* Aquatic Safety Inspector, Auditor and Chief Auditor
* Pool Operator 1 & 2
* Aquatic Supervisor Training and Aquatic Management Training
* The LSS also trains Officials, Judges and Referees for lifesaving sport
* Lifesaving Society Instructor Courses (to teach Bronze courses and Rookie, Ranger, Star Patrols)
* Instructor courses for NLS, First Air and other advanced level courses
