__NOTOC__Rybnik County ( _pl. powiat rybnicki) is a unit of territorial administration and local government (powiat) in Silesian Voivodeship, southern Poland. It was created on January 1, 1999 as a result of the Local Government Reorganization Act of 1998. Its administrative seat is the city of Rybnik, although the city is not part of the county (it constitutes a separate city county). The only town in Rybnik County is Czerwionka-Leszczyny, which lies convert|15|km|mi|0|abbr=on north-east of Rybnik.

The county consists of three disjoint parts, separated by the city of Rybnik. The total area of the county is convert|224.63|km2|sqmi|1. As of 2006 its total population is 73,527, out of which the population of Czerwionka-Leszczyny is 28,486 and the rural population is 45,041.

Neighbouring counties

Apart from the city of Rybnik, Rybnik County is also bordered by Gliwice County to the north, Mikołów County and the city of Żory to the east, the city of Jastrzębie-Zdrój to the south, Wodzisław County to the south-west, and Racibórz County to the west.

The county is subdivided into five gminas (one urban-rural and four rural). These are listed in the following table, in descending order of population.
