Cumberland County, Republic of Vermont

Cumberland County, Republic of Vermont was a short-lived county in Vermont, comprising two counties which seceded from New York in 1777: Cumberland County and Gloucester County. In 1781, this county was broken up into three counties in Vermont and one that eventually became part of New Hampshire.
