Simon Child

Simon Child

Simon Child (born April 16, 1988 in Auckland) is a field hockey player from New Zealand, who earned his first cap for the national team, nicknamed "The Black Sticks", in 2005 against Malaysia. At the age of sixteen he became the second youngest player to turn out for the New Zealand Men’s Hockey Team while still a student at King's College in Auckland. He won the "Counties Manukau Junior Sportsman of the Year" in 2005.Fact|date=July 2008

He played in the 2006 Men's Hockey World Cup in Mönchengladbach, Germany.
