Irvine Valley College Athletics

Irvine Valley College (IVC) is a community college in Irvine, California and it is a part of the California Community Colleges system.

Sponsoring intercollegiate competition at the 2-year college level, [http://www.ivc.edu/athletics Irvine Valley College Athletics] competes in the Orange Empire Conference, widely regarded as the nation's premier community college conference.

IVC Men's Soccer has twice been named National Champions among small colleges (1993 and 2003), and IVC won a historic four consecutive state titles in Badminton (2002-2005). In all, IVC Athletics has captured a total of 11 State titles since the program's inception in 1993, the most recent by Men's Volleyball with back-to-back titles in 2007 and 2008.

Premier among the Coaching staff are National Coach of the Year award winners Martin McGrogan in Men's Soccer and Tom Pestolesi in Men's Volleyball, and IVC Assistant Coaches Jay Hosack in Men's Volleyball (currently also an assistant with the US National Team), and AVP standout Misty May-Treanor with Women's Volleyball. Head Men's Basketball Coach Jerry Hernandez notched his 250th career win at IVC in 2008.
