Composite honeycomb

Composite honeycomb

Composite honeycomb is a material used as a core material in Sandwich structured composite structures.

Composite honeycomb takes its name from its visual resemblance to a bee's honeycomb - a hexagonal sheet structure.

Manufacture

Composite honeycombs are constructed of composite materials such as glass-reinforced plastic (better known as fiberglass), carbon fiber reinforced plastic, nomex reinforced plastic, kevlar reinforced plastic, or sometimes a metal (usually aluminum).
