state highway in theU.S. state ofVirginia , running from State Route 122 at Burnt Chimney north to State Route 101 in Roanoke.SR 116 enters Roanoke from the southeast on Mount Pleasant Boulevard, reaching downtown via Riverland Road, Piedmont Street, and Walnut Avenue. There SR 116 turns north on Jefferson Street, joining U.S. Route 221 at Elm Avenue (State Route 24) and continuing along Campbell Avenue and Williamson Road with US 221 (and U.S. Route 11 after Jefferson Street). SR 116 turns west at Orange Avenue (U.S. Route 11 Alternate/U.S. Route 460), finally splitting from its overlaps at Lafayette Boulevard, which it follows, along with Cove Road, to end at State Route 101 (Hershberger Road).
