Internal security

Internal security

Internal security, or IS, is the act of keeping domestic peace within a country. It is often carried out by police, government personnel, specialized military (such as the Italian Carabinieri or the Iranian Basij) or paramilitary forces (such as the French GIGN) who may be armed with lethal or less than lethal weapons. Noam Chomsky has defined it as "a euphemism for war against the domestic population." [cite paper

Internal security is also a societal state in which a citizen/resident of an area (City, Nation, etc.) is able to enjoy freely (within the law) their social, political, economic, and cultural life with out any negative constraints put upon them by either the state or non-state actors.A citizen is secure internally if they're free from: 1) social crimes (such as murder), 2) miltancy (such as violence), 3) terrorist activities by citizens within the country who may be aided and abetted by a neighboring country or countries or 4) communal riots or oppression by majority ethnic religious caste groups. The majority of countries suffer from one problem or another related to internal security
