Springvale is a railway station in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, located in the suburb of Springvale, on the Pakenham and Cranbourne railway lines. Springvale is classed as a Premium Station and is in Metcard Zone 2.

A third rail line is to built connecting the station with Dandenong and Caulfield railway stations as part of the $1 billion Dandenong railway line triplication project. Work on the Springvale-Caulfield section is due to begin by 2011 and on the Springvale-Dandenong section between 2011 and 2016. Facilities

Springvale is located at the eastern end of the Springvale Road level crossing, with station access from Springvale, Lightwood and Sandown Roads.

The station consists of two side platforms: Platform 1 (Flinders Street bound) has a large weatherboard building with an enclosed waiting room, a ticket office and toilets, while platform 2 (Dandenong bound) has a smaller weatherboard building. A large Metcard machine is located inside the waiting room, which is able to dispense most ticketing options available and also accepts notes and coins, with small coin-only Metcard machines situated in the waiting room and at the entrance to platform 2.

History

The remnant of a former branch line which went to Spring Vale Cemetery station was located at the down end of the station as siding 'B'.
