Serbia first participated in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2006. The country previously participated as part of Serbia and Montenegro (which was dissolved on June 5, 2006). Ironically, Serbia competed as an independent country in the JESC before taking part in the actual Eurovision Song Contest. Their second perforamance at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest was in 2007.
