Frederick Hartt

Frederick Hartt

Frederick Hartt (1914-1991) was a professor of History of Art at the University of Virginia. He is most well known for his books, which include (two volumes) and Italian Renaissance Art. He received his PhD from New York University's Institute of Fine Arts in 1950. In World War II, Hartt was an officer in the Monuments, Fine Arts, and Archives Division of the US Army.
