Huntsbury

Huntsbury is a suburb of Christchurch, New Zealand, located on the fringes of the Port Hills some three kilometres south of the city centre. While it is now a predominantly residential area, it was once notable for its brickworks and attendant chimneys. These were destroyed during the early part of the 1980s.

The suburb was named for two early settlers, Hunt and Berry. During the course of its history, the suburb has been known as Huntsbury-on-the-hill, Huntsbury Hill and now simply Huntsbury.

Huntsbury is bounded by Beckenham and St Martins to the north, Cashmere to the west and Murray Ansley to the east.
