Abbas Mirakhor

Abbas Mirakhor is an International Monetary Fund Executive Director representing the Iranian government at the IMF.

Career

Abbas Mirakhor has served as an economist in the Research Department of the IMF and was formerly Professor of Economics at the Florida Institute of Technology. He received his PhD from Kansas State University, and has published in a variety of areas, including microeconomic theory, mathematical economics, and Islamic economics. He is the co-author of a book called "Theoretical Studies in Islamic Banking and Finance" published by Islamic Publications International on September 15, 2005. He received the Islamic Development Bank's (IDB) 2003 prize in Islamic economics together with Dr. Mohsin Khan, Director of the IMF Institute.
