Idlib Governorate ( _ar. مُحافظة ادلب) is one of the fourteen governorates (provinces) of Syria. It is situated in northwestern Syria, bordering Turkey. Its area depends on sources. It varies from 5,933 km² [http://www.statoids.com/usy.html] to 6,097 km² [http://www.citypopulation.de/Syria.html] . Governorate has a population of 1,359,000 (2007 estimate). The capital is Idlib.
