The nominees for the 72nd Academy Awards were announced on February 15 2000 by Academy president Robert Rehme and actor Dustin Hoffman, at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in the Academy's Beverly Hills headquarters. The winners were announced March 26 at a ceremony at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California.
