Sleipner class corvette

Sleipner class corvette

The Sleipner-class corvette was a part of the Royal Norwegian Navy's 1960 fleet plan. It was intended to build 5 ships of the class, but because of economical problems only two were built. These were F 310 KNM «Sleipner» and F 311 KNM «Æger». Sleipner was built by Nylands Mek. verksted, Oslo and Æger by Akers Mek. verksted, Oslo and handed over to the RNoN between 1965-1967. Both ships went through a modernization program in 1988, the ships were then used as cadet training ships. They were decommissioned in 1992.
