Maria Devi Christos

Maria Devi Christos (real name Marina Tsvigun (Марина Цвигун), born in 1960) -'The Mother of the World' is a leader of the New Community of Enlightened Humanity. In 1990 she organized a new religious movement, "The Great White Brotherhood" and gave it the nickname "YUSMALOS" (Jupiter; Saturn; Mars, Luna, Orion and Sirius). Following the collapse of the Soviet Union it was one of the most prominent spiritual movements, headed by the Woman-Priestess.

This new organization came into conflict with the Orthodox Church of Russia. The movement was prohibited and its leader was persecuted as anathema. Later she and her husband (John-Peter Vtoroy) were arrested and put into prison for 4 years. The United Nations and the International Court, in 1997, considered them prisoners of conscience and granted them amnesty.

As of 2007 Maria Devi Christos continues her spiritual mission, organized as "The Mystic College of ISIS and Her Followers."
